How could we have known that we would be the first class Mr. Scanell ever had. I remember pulling up on my bicycle in Sept 1976 ,first day of school and seeing him and mr morrissy standing on 104 street just sounth of 101 ave by the entrance to the schoolyard.He was 21 years old. He was just a kid . I have called him a few times over the years ,most recently in 2011 in the first wek of Sept. I was dissappointed to hear that I missed his retirement. that is than you dont deserve to call yourself a member of the clas of 69). Does anyone remember that he cried in class on the day RFK was killed? I remember him slamming his pointer down and yelling "Mr. Pinella, sit down and shut up" also remember Steve W and Anthony Compitello. His Mom and pop had my graduation photo on the wall of their mom and pop store in the early 80s. I used to see it every morning on my way to get the J train on my way to work on Wall Street when I stopped in to get coffee and newspaper.
