Life
After graduating from Cornell, I joined the US Foreign Service in 1966. I resigned in protest after the US invasion of Cambodia in 1970. Next, I worked for three years for Senator Clifford Case of New Jersey as his Executive Assistant for Foreign Policy. Then, I co-authored a best-selling book, The CIA and the Cult of Intelligence, and wrote myself the award...Expand for more
-winning Search for the Manchurian Candidate. After a fellowship at Harvard's Institute of Politics, in 1982 I founded Search for Common Ground, which has grown into the world's large non-profit organization working in the field of conflict resolution. I continue to serve as Prsident of that organization, and I live in Washington, DC with my wife, Susan Collin Marks.
