John's Story

Well you may remember Rita Beaudry; my first wife. We were married in apr 64 and were together for 3 yrs. We had a beautiful little boy; Johnny IV. Rita and I divorced in "67" and she remarried and I went into the Army for 3 yrs. I went to Ft. Polk, Ft Bragg, N>C> and Vietnam before returning to Redstone Arsenal, AL where I met my current wife, Dorothy and finished my stint in the army in Feb 1971. So tragically; my little boy Johnny, died from childhood cancer in 1975 at age 10. Dottie could not have children but I loved her and we have been together now for 39 yrs. There is currently a rumor going around Shreveport that I am DEAD but please let me put that to rest and assure you that I am very much alive and Iam straightining that rumor out. I still play my guitar and sing 2 days a week at Sr. center and play golf which I love as often as I can. That is the story of my life. I have been back to S'port from Huntsville, AL where I live over the years to visis my family there but my mom passed in 2003 and now I don't know when I will be back. Sorry I couldn't ...Expand for more
come to any reunions but it is such a long trip it just seemed to never work out. I always wanted to be a professional singer and musician when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a o.k. ,I guess idea. As it turns out, they were neither right or wrong; it just wasn't for a family man.. I have lived at Ft. Polk, Ft. Bragg, Long Binh, Vietnam, and Redstone Arsenal and Huntsville, AL I love golf, singing and playing my guitar for folks like you! My biggest surprise was that I would ever be a conductor on a train and a tour guide at a civil war train musuem; The Huntsville Depot; which was occupied by union troops in Apr 1862. golf, guitar and singing. Love to all my old friends there, Johnny golf, guitar, an singing for folks; I have always loved entertaining people..as some of you know. golf, guitar playing and singing I have always loved entertaining people. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my backyard and add on a large deck and swimming pool. My dream home would be 3500 sq. ft. tudor mansion with a swimming pool and a petting zoo for kids..
