John's Story
Many of you knew me as farmer John during high school, because I sold eggs. I am from Port Orange, Florida. I am divorced with 4 young adults. You know I went to school at Spruce Creek High School and moved on to attend college attend college at Daytona State College and Sante Fe Community College while being an assistant supervisor at a worldwide convenience store chain.
I was profit, improver and manager of the year of that chain from around the globe in 1982.
I own three P&C insurance agencies for 10 years and then retired. I last attended DSC in 2023 and NO, I do not yet have a 2 year degree. One class to go, they told me, and three classes later I still have one class to go. That’s when you say.
F… THEM.
Soon enough, I figured out that was for kids I had to go back to work so I bought Formal Wear and change the name to John’s bridal. Since I hate someone bridal gowns, I started doing Tuxedos only and change my name Daytona Tuxedos.
Many of you have visited Daytona Tuxedos for suits and tuxedos since the early 1990’s, where I work. Since most people need to look good for their weddings, TV ads, celebrity status and special events, I put in 12 hours a day making sure everyone looks great. That is why so many celebrities buy their formal attire here while visiting Daytona Beach. Professional athletes, actors, body builders, professional models, professional musicians, big man up to size 80, all drive or fly here for their wedding or performance attire. You may have seen me at the gym running 3 miles a day or at the local poker room either working (during Covid) or playing cards.
I only eat fruits and vegetables and other items the Yuka app says is good or excellent to consume.and a few Bud Light beers. That keeps my heart rate in the 70s, so when people check my pulse they think I’m dead. My blood pressure is low, and I only take medicines if it’s a matter of life and death. My family had the Port Orange stables since 1963, but the expenses and time involved to take care of the place was well more than any income that could be made on the poperty with all the Port Orange restrictions, so I sold it and they are building a storage unit on the property. I use the money to help my kids succeed in life and I help people buy their first homes.

I have driven a pick up truck all my life and I bought another one last year and I also bought a dodge challenger because I’ve always wanted one and could not afford one.
The low point in my life is in the late 2000s when my wife and I in four kids were homeless and then I found another house to buy. That’s when I got divorced yet I still hang out with my ex wife. And just bought a house for her a year ago because she was homeless.

The Highpoint in my life were when I was able to drive around Daytona, international Speedway thanks to Vicky Robertson Foley. Then she set me up in a movie with Robert Englund, which was awesome.
In the 80s, I did some ads for the news journal, and was an extra in the movie days of thunder in the Atlanta scene. I used to hang out with a bunch of NASCAR drivers, but working in the bridal shop took too much of my time to hang out with any of my friends or anyone else.
I came in ninth Place and the largest bowling tournament in the United States in Las Vegas back in the 90s.
I was part of the world league with the Orlando thunder. I love football, and I was able to kick the ball around sometimes out there on the field, but can only kick a 40 yarder with the end zone at the goal line.😂😂😂
I am currently in 2024, a sponsor for the Daytona Beach Broncos, so go out and watch them play spring league football in Daytona Beach.
Mike Whisenant was such a huge Star Trek fan, since middle school I am one also, if you hear a communicator buzz while you’re in the store, that might be me because that’s my ringtone to beam me up Scotty.😂

My son is a doctor in Saint Augustine and so is his wife. My youngest daughter works at Rooms To Go, Her name is Laura. my oldest daughter lives in Iowa and my second oldest daughter doesn’t know what she’s doing with her life yet.
