John's Story
Life
After school, I went strait to work, doing odd jobs. But quickly ended up at the Tongue Job Corps, just outside Astoria, Oregon. After a year there, and working various construction jobs, and a brief stint between homes, I found myself in the Navy recruiter's office. I signed up to join the ranks of the "Fighting Seabees". Just as I was to be shipped out to Basic, a little thing called Desert Shield came into being. Thus by the time I was through with Basic, and A-School, Desert Storm was already under way. Well, I went over, got hurt, and got shipped back. Got patched up well enough, and switched to the title of weekend warrior, and went job hunting. Well, after several more construction jobs, another brief stint between homes, and teperarily living in Colorado, I'm back home, and living in Spokane....Expand for more
The knee that was injured, has since gotten worse, and so I've religated myself to homemaker, and being a guy, am doing a lousy job at it.
School
Though my friends at school, were few and far between. Those of you that were there for me, made it worth showing up. Granted I didn't make it easy to be friends with me. Not that I wasn't excepting of friendships. But, despite being easy going, I was way to...Um...Odd, I think best described me. That, and a tad juvinile (Even by high school standards). But that fact some of you stuck by me anyway, just made you all that much more valuable to me. I miss all of you, and even those of you that were less than friendly. And was glad to see some of you in Job Corps, and the reunion. Would love to hear from you all again. Maybe even rekindle those old friendships.
