I was a pretty lost and confused kid in high school. I wasn't a good student and the only thing that kept me there besides my mom and dad was participation in gymnastics. After graduation I got a job and found out what hard work was like. I got too far into drinking and wrecked my first car a 56 chevy by slamming it into a light pole on the Hollywood Freeway. It was a miracle that the three of got out of the car. It didn'd phase me much and I think the thing that saved my life was the news that I was going to drafted in 1965. I went in the military and served 13 months in country Viet Nam in DaNang and Chu Lai. Back in the states I got stationed on a destroyer and went back over in 68. When I got out of the militatary I had learned that you needed and education to go any where in the world so I went back to school. Graduation from San Diego State in 1974. I went to work for Armstrong as a carpet salesman and for the first time in our lives Dixie and I had a little money. I got further into parying and drinking. Left Armstrong and went to work for Honeywell in 1977. Got a drunk driving ticket in 1978. Probably should have died the night I got the ticket but was spared once again. I...Expand for more
