John's Story

To all my old friends from BTHS... howdy! It's been 35 years since I walked the hallways of BTHS. That's a long, long time ago. Almost a lifetime. My life has been pretty good. As a matter of fact my life is very good at this moment but I'll get to that in a sec. After BTHS I did what many people do when they get out of school.. got a job and tried to find my place in this world. I met a girl in 1974, we fell in love and in 1979 we married. We had 2 chldren together, my daughter was born in 1980 and my son was born in 1983. During this time also, I had the opportunity to pursue some personal dreams and goals. In 1977, I along with my best friend formed a band called Skatiki. We wrote and recorded our own music and got to jam with some really good musicians. You can find more about that and even listen to some of our tunes on my myspace page. Just google "skatiki" Somewhere in the 80s I got into computers and video games. The Commodore 64 was a popular computer back then and it allowed me to express my creativity in another form. I taught myself to program in machine language and wrote/published 3 video games, a couple BBS programs and some really cool hacking tools. But my biggest achie...Expand for more
vement came in the mid 90s when I wrote the Lottoman Database System. The first version was published by SoftDisk. It became pretty popular so I started a company called, Lottoman and published future versions through that. Soon after unfortantly, the PC's were becoming more popular and affordable, and the soon to be obselete Commodore 64 would be no more. If I would have done this a year before, I would have been a millionare. Never the less, to this day that is my greatest accomplishment. In 1987 we left New Jersey and moved to Pennsylvania. We had a few good years there but like many couples who married way too young, our marriage was falling apart. We divorced in 1991, 1992 I think. Despite some of the bad things that had happened in my life, I am greatful for all of it because it has brought me to where I'm at today. In 2001 I found my soulmate and the woman who I can truly say that I love with all my heart and soul. Her name is Sandra and we married in 2003. We have a nice home in Bradford, PA. We both have good jobs and have our own photography and video business as well. We are blessed with 3 grandchildren (from her 2 children.) Life doesn't get any better than this. 7/22/2008
