John (Jackie)'s Story
I enlisted in the Air Force 1986 and was called to active duty in 1987. Upon completion of Basic Military Training and Law Enforcement Specialist. My first duty station was at McConnell AFB, KS., from August 1987-December 1990. During this tour, I worked on the Joint Drug Enforcement Team with the Office of Special Investigations. Got married to Tina (Crazy woman). In December 1990, I moved to Bellows AFS, HI. During this time, Pearl Harbor celebrated its 50th anniversary of the Japanese attack and I was privileged to meet numerous WWII veterans. I also provided hurricane relief to the island of Kauai. Got divorced, thank GOD, my first girl, Chelsea, 16 was born. In November 1994, I was assigned to Sheppard AFB, TX. the 4417th Air Expeditionary Force to Azraq, Jordon
and Saudi and Turkey. Meet my good wife, Brenda. In 1997, I completed
retraining as a Health Services Manager. I was assigned to Dyess AFB,
TX and performed duties as NCOIC, Mission Information Systems. While serving at Dyess, I had the opportunity to participate in a
Medical Humanitarian Mission to six villages in El Salvador. Grace was born in 2002. In 2003, I returned to McConnell AFB, I served as the Superintendent for the 22d Medical Support Squadron. In 2007, his dream of retiring -alive- from the United States Air Force has come true. I now life in Bossier City. In 2000, I had a heart attack playing softball, it hurt. In 2006, I had a stroke, it hurt too. I have a great Wife (Brenda)and 2 beautiful girls (Chelsea and Grace).
