John's Story

Life I am still and always will be a nerd, geek, etc. However, that has done me well enough -- corp. VP at 24, now travel globally helping hospital radiology departments with their computer systems -- I make them talk and play nice together. Oh - Antwerp (Belgium) is glorious in October! School I always wished I'd not been so timid toward one girl in particular: Patty Nichols. Fave teacher: Del Ross. Years later, he and I and our wives got together frequently for grilling and beer. College Oh boy. Lots of alcohol, pot, speed, acid, up/down and sideways. Still made it with 4.0. Workplace After high school, I ...Expand for more
worked as a welder, then as yard supervisor in the old Leeds lead refinery. Mom got tired of seeing me grungy all the time and reminded me about "computer school". After graduation, I wrote software for a wide range of businesses and applications, then found myself Vice-President of a Memphis consulting firm. Wow. I don't know how I lived through it all. Roof-top parties, cocaine... sheesh. Now, I am what is called an "interface consultant", which entails travelling globally, helping hospitals in their radiology departments with their IT needs and making the computers all talk and play nice together. This is kind of fun!
