John's Story

Life After graduation in '67 I attended a trade school in Houston for a year and was then drafted. I spent about 11 years on active duty in the Air Force. For the first 9 years I was a crew chief on a variety of 1 and 2 engined aircraft. Bases included Randolph, Takhli, Ubon, Udorn, Wurtsmith, and Cannon. I went into safety in '77 and was assigned to Fairchild, Washington. I completed an AA while on active duty in '79 and enrolled in Eastern Washington University. I left active duty in March '79 and went on to complete a BS in Occupational Safety ...Expand for more
and Health in '81. From '81 until '95 I worked for a number of insurance companies as a loss control consultant. Since '95 I have been working for Jacobs Engineering. I have spent managing the safety efforts for Segment 3 of the LA Red Line, Western Region Safety Manager for Jacobs Infrastructure and am currently working on another mega project in Seattle called Brightwater. I have been married three times, this time since 1990. I am very involved in my church and teach adult Sunday school as well as lead a Thursday night study in a seniors home.
