John's Story
Life
Born in Misissippi, raised and educated by the good nuns of St. Peter's in Rutland, VT until we moved to Newburyport, MA in 1956. Still in touch with NHS friends.
Finished Bowdoin College in 1962, headed to California to find work in chemistry, married a girl from Long Island that I met in '65 on the beach at a Fort Lauderdale Spring Break. We stayed married long enough to generate my daughter, Lee. She grew up and married an engineer named Mark and now I have two more little fishermen in the clan, Josh and Noah. My good wife of 25 years, 'Raine (short for Lorraine), is a NH teacher. Once a year we go on a cruise to the warm islands. Our 25th anniversary was this year (2004) and we did a 5-week "Lap Around America" in a hot red Mustang convertible.
Workplace
From Maine to California, I tried many occupations--Oil Refinery Chemist, Sales, Textile Plant Engineer, and many jobs I don't want to talk about. In 1981 I found something I loved, Computer Programming and never had to work another day.
