John's Story
Life
Went to College, didn't finish on first try, (who does?). Became a electronics tech. (Nerd). Worked at same place for 13 yrs. Rocket scientist. Laid off when the aerospace game left Calif. and I didn't. Found a better job at Dow Jones, making the big bucks and paying for it with stress. Still have most of my hair, some gray now. Im into rifle shooting at paper targets, this computer, and friends. Married at 33, still happy after 21 years. No kids that I know of. (That kind of lifestyle.) School
School: KCHS started in 1970, after living nearly my entire life in California. Met one of my best friends there, Gerry Back. He lived in Soldotna, me in Kenai. He was a nerd too, and thats why we hung out together. I got better grades, b...Expand for more
ut he applied them, guess that means he won. He and I went on to Arizona State University in 1974. He eventually graduated and I didn't. We were always competing with each other, until I went back to California and he stayed in Arizona. I think we may have seen each other 3 times in the last 15 years, and I guess thats how that goes. I went on to be the technician, and he the engineer for a disk drive sensor manufacturer or something like that. Me, I stayed with the 9- 5 thing. School, I guess was a good thing, but I doubt you could prove it by me. My biggest thing was I was involved in testing Satellites at Hughes Aircraft, for 13 years. And have been pretty much coasting since. Dow Jones owns my life now, and I give them hell everyday, to protect what little sanity I have denied them. My favorite games now are Diablo 2 and thats about it for rpg.
It is now, 2017. I have changed alot since writing this.
I have graduated from college in 2005. Worked in air conditioning, what a waste of time. Became a truck driver, 8 years, nearly a million miles on the road, no accidents, no tickets. Now, that has to be an 'A'. I visit with friends more, less stress, more fun, and think as a hobby.
