John's Story
While at LMHS, I was very active in student and academic activities. I was the first African American Drum Major for LMHS. When you look in the yearbook, I was the 'Steve Urkel' of our time! Hey, you call it like it is! Since leaving LMHS, I graduated from Morehead State University; came back to teach at LMHS; married 3 times (divorced once; married Renee Marshall, LMHS Class of 1966 and was widowed; and, finally, married the love of my life, Thomas Aldrich Weintraut, Jr. in Iowa); continued my education obtaining Masters Degrees from The University of Louisville a...Expand for more
nd National University; obtained my Doctorate Degree in Curriculum and Teaching in 2013 from Northcentral University; moved to Columbus, Indiana in 2001 where I taught at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana where I became Dean of The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and attained the rank of Associate Professor of English, History, Social & Behavioral Sciences. I retired May 2014 and moved to Opelika, Alabama where Thom is Principal Planner for The City of Auburn, Alabama.
