John's Story
Life
Graduated JVHS in 1980 and moved on to Auburn University. Graduated AU in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. Received a commission in the U.S. Navy and served in the U.S. Navy as a commissioned officer for 7 years (1985-1992). Got married in 1989 (divorced in 1991). My perfect son was born in October of 1990. After leaving the Navy, went back to school at Columbus State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Computer Science. Since then, have been working as a computer systems analyst in the bankcard/credit card industry and am currently a senior systems analyst for my company.
School
JVHS - 1976-1980; Auburn University - 1980-1985 - I am orange and blue through and through... my years at Auburn were the greatest and funnest formative years of my life... I finally grew up and learned alot about life while a student at Auburn; Columbus State University - 1994.
College

s at Auburn are still my best friends today (two of which I went to high school with at JVHS). I learned alot about life, successes and failures, while a student at AU. Auburn did a great job in preparing me for the real world. What great times I had with my friends there! In retrospect, I certainly wish I had studied a little harder back then, but the total "student life" package that I experienced while at Auburn I would recommend to ANYBODY. I love Auburn, and anyone that knows me can tell you that.
Workplace
I enjoy my work. But work, in and of itself, is only a means to an end, i.e. raising my son, putting him through college, future retirement.
Military
Graduated Auburn University 1985 and commissioned as an Ensign , U.S. Navy on the same day. Served 3 years at sea on board USS Yorktown (CG-48) as the ship's Ordnance Officer and then as the ship's Navigator. I then served three years attached to Naval Base Norfolk VA as the Base Ordnance Officer. I was processed out of the service in 1992 due to a service incurred disability.
