Life After graduating JA in '72 I attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. I met my soon to be wife there and we were married the day after graduation. Attended Northern Illinois U. for a year and then choose St. Louis U. for their graduate program in Hospital Administration. I graduated in 1979, stayed and worked in St. Louis until 1982 where I went back to Illinois and worked in two small hospitals in Geneva and St. Charles, Illinois. Then it was off for 16 great years as the COO for a large health system in Frederick, MD. I left that position at the end of February 2003 and moved to Turlock CA where I am the president and CEO for a growing medical center there. Up until this last move Elaine has been in and out of the work force, most recently working for an engineering group at Hughes Network Systems (Direct TV). She is now enjoying some time off and running around the country getting the kids settled in college. We have three: Steven, 23, graduate of the U of Virginia, starting his first year of law school at Un of Denver; Rachel, 22, graduate of the College of William and Mary, now working in Philadelphia; and Elizabeth (Betsy), 19, starting her sophmore year at Wheaton. California living is great, and we are enjoying the change from the east coast. July 2015: here's an update. Lots of change in the last 7 years! I managed the sale of the hospital I ran in Turlock, CA , closing the sale just 12 months ago. After taking a few months off I was lured back into hospital management by SSM Health, a large Catholic healthcare system based in St. Louis.
