John's Story
Life
I have been married to my wife Diana for 32 years. We have 2 grown children. My son Jonathon is a High School Teacher and a coach at the Scotch Plains/Fanwood School System. He is 25 and has been married for 2 year. I also have a 23 year daughter named Vanessa. She attended FDU in Madison and is working for Intercontial Hotels.
Military
Shortly after graduating from Snyder in 1966 I joined the USMC with another Sny...Expand for more
der graduate from the class of 1966. His name was Chester Bened. We were sent to Vietnam in August 1967. I was assigned to the 1ST Battalion Fifth Marines and operated in I Corps. While there I spent 13 months as a platoon radio operator. I than spent another 4 months as an advisor in a Combined Action Team. This was a unit of 13 Marines who lived in a South Vietnamese village. During my time INCOUNTRY I was wounded 2 times.
