John's Story
Life After Jeff, I did 4 Years in the Air Force, all of it at Lackland AFB as a secure communications equipment technical instructor. I married the love of my life, Linda (Edison class of 1965) in April of 1969. I graduated from UT Arlington (EE) in 1972 and went to work for E-Systems (now Raytheon) in the Dallas area. We raised our three wonderful kids in the Dallas area and became empty nesters in 1998. We moved to Northern Virginia (Reston) in 1999 where we lived until we retired in 2005. Linda retired from Oracle (Paralegal) and I retired from Raytheon (Engineering Fellow) and we moved back to the San Antonio area and bought a home in Fair Oaks Ranch. I still consult (a little, and it is 2016) when they need help.
Our pride and joy are our three kids. Steve is a Physical Therapist; he and his wife Paige live in Portland Texas. Suzanne is a Special Ed teacher in a private school; she and her husband Walt live in Little Rock, Arkansas. Lauren is a Home Maker and Home schools their 5 Gids. She and...Expand for more
her husband Geoff live in the Dubois. Wyoming area.
We are very blessed in that our three kids have given us 10 PERFECT Grand Kids, all under the age of 13. With the kids spread out we do travel. Linda and I enjoy (spoil) the grand kids, travel, beach, garden, movies and books. We are active in our church and have been blessed to attend the Emmaus retreat. I even fish a little out of my Kayak in both fresh and salt water.
Since moving back to the San Antonio area I have also been blessed to renew VERY OLD friendships and enjoy breakfast weekly with my brother AL and some very good new Christian friends. We meet at the IHOP on IH10 and De Zavala. Life Is Good.
Jeff was the best school ever and all I remember is the blast we all had going there. Those were the Good Ol Days (until I remember the Grand Kids). I was able to visit Jeff in 1992 when my Daughter Suzanne was in a speech and debate competition there. While it seemed smaller it was still a great school and brought back LOTSA Great Memories!
