Life After High School, I got a job with the post office, drank a lot and waited to get drafted.Got drafted in Oct 66 and did my two years. Got out of the army and went to Rio Hondo JC. Worked part time driving school buses for Whittier Union High School district and got married in 1969. Went on to Cal State Fullerton, planned to be a teacher but before I graduated (and believe it or not I did graduate) a got a job working with the California Youth Authority at the Fred C. Nelles School in Whittier as a counselor. Transfered to the Youth Authority camp at Washington Ridge near Nevada City Ca in 1977. I remained there until 1988. Along the way we had three wonderful children, Rachel who now teaches high school in Paridise CA, Rebecca who has her PHd and teaches at the Univ or Wis, Green Bay and Zion who has his BA and plans on going to Law School. In 1988 I got tired of forest fires, poison oak, and bugs, so I promoted to Correctional Counselor at Folsom Prison. I bet some of you thought I might end up in a Prison, but not as a staff member! Got divorcied in 1994 and remarred in 2000. I retired after 30 years in corrections in 2001 and love being retired....Expand for more
