John's Story
Go to the end to see the latest update. (2020)
After careers as a farmer, a naval officer, a high school teacher and administrator, after living in the greater Vancouver area and in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and in Saskatoon, and in Watson Lake, Yukon, I find myself a retired Anglican priest in the far North in Dawson City, Yukon, where my wife of 40 years is also a retired nurse and I am also a paramedic and a Presiding Justice of the Peace and I teach all types of First Aid from First Responder through OFA3 and EMR. We love to travel and have been all over the world, including around the world by freighter in Nov 2006 to April 2007. Yet the photography hobby I had at Ross Shep has never been lost. I also love to keep in touch with old friends and classmates, so please do email me or "drop in" when you're in the neighbourhood.
Currently we are doing short term appointments in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut as of January 2008.
Best wishes and blessings to all.

re I will take over the post as the Dean of the Cathedral there. Spent this past winter (2008/09)in Heidelberg and Spain. In 2014 we retired and returned to Canada settling in Jarvie, Alberta, north-west of Edmonton. Since then I have been appointed the half-time priest in charge of the Anglican churches at Lac La None and Barrhead. so much for retirement! Always glad to hear from classmates and former students and colleagues. Carol just finished what she says is her last nursing contract in Nunavut, completing 48 years as a nurse.
As of June 2019 I am priest in charge of the Parish of Northern Lights which is 4 churches: St. Paul's Boyle, St. Andrew's Colinton, St Thomas' Perryvale and Christ Church Wandering River Alberta.
So it's now April 2020 and Carol and I are well and isolating in scenic snow covered Jarvie Alberta. I have been working for Sobeys as a Shop and Deliver person three days a week. Our worship has been by Facebook streaming and Zoom. These are interesting times and I hope you are all well.
