John's Story
Ok, so I went to the "10" year reunion and have almost completely lost touch since then. I was saddened and honored
to have been invited to attend Mike Griego's funeral (he was also a '72 grad), in Sept. 2001, making that time period all the more poignant since I always considered Mike a casulty of the
Viet Nam war. I left Utah by being drafted in '72 & joining the Air Force.
I married my first wife while still in the military, spent time in So.Cal., Viet Nam, England, Spain, and Idah...Expand for more
o. My 1st 2 kids were born while I was in the military, and I was "born again" while stationed in Spain. I'm now back
in Utah (SLC), in my 2nd marriage, and actively involved in a local church. The last time I was in Layton was in 2005 when I was invited to speak at a local church there. Our children are now all grown and gone. We have 11 grandchildren, the oldest being 16, and
are constantly reminded that "grandpar-
enthood" is all it's cracked up to be.
