John's Story
What irks me folks is that I've already done this once!
Left Carlisle in '64 and joined the Air Force. I spent the next eight years in Southeast Asia working on several differnt kinds of air planes under various war or nonwar-like conditions in countries we were and were not supposed to be in.
Got out in '72 and went to HACC for a couple of years while I worked at the Navy depot. Met a young Phil-Am lady and she and I went to Penn State Main Campus from '76 to '79. I graduated with a degree in engineering and took a job with IBM building the Kost Road distribution center from '79 to'84.
Met Cecelia Shambaugh in 81 or 82 and married her in 83 and moved to Northern Virginia in 84 to work for Sperry Univc on government warehousing and distribution contracts. Left Sperry/Unisys in 1988 after the birth of our second daughter and got a job with the US Postal Service introducing integrated material handling technology into the mail processing enviro...Expand for more
nment.
Unfortunately, the marriage didn't last and got divorced in 1996 with three daughters and a heavy child support payment. Thirteen years later I am still with the Postal Service, but with no child support payments after the youngest daughter graduated from high school in June of this year.
In my spare time I enjoy writing; listening to ambient or space music (Hearts of Space or Echoes); spending time with my kids, and going to flea markets and sales looking for that undiscovered treasure!! Oh, I also have a collection of glass railroad and power insulators that I try to expand every once in a while. I did have a good sized collection of Koi for several years, but while it was fun raising fish, it was also time consuming and expensive. I've moved again and the fish did not come along.
Haven't found my soulmate yet and I've decided, if it happens, it will just Happen!
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!! Thanks for reading it ;o)
