John's Story
Life
Married, 2 kids and 60 pounds weight gain later... My 2 Kids are now older than most of you were when I saw you last. I got married in Dec. 1979 to Jean. She's from Rochester, NY. Computer nerd with a degree in Physics, but a great gal. My oldest son Joel is 20, MVP of Community College swim team, beach lifeguard, party animal, and the reason why my hair is solid gray (although I have a solid head of it). Youngest Ed is so different (thank God!). Ed is Mr. straight and narrow, my big football player guy... lifts weights like crazy, 5' 10" 220...but boy is he solid. When I need to discipline him I sneak up on him. He's heading off to Fresno State in the fall, hoping to play football.

uldn't get me anywhere. I didn't like the Marines much, so I only stayed for 20 years. Had some great adventure experiences and friendships along the way. I started coaching while I was in the Marines for guess what sport? Running...wrong! Swimming. I did that full time when I retired for 7 years. Anyways, now I am a personal trainer and assistant fitness manager for a large fitness chain here in CA. Retired from the Marines in January 1994. I finished my B. S. in Business Management in 1986 and I just finished (2001) my Master of Science in Kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton. I live 5 minutes from the beach smack dab between LA and San Diego where I've been all but 7 of the years since 1973.
