John's Story

I went into the Navy in late July 1969 and was stationed in San Diego, CA. I was trained in Data Processing / Computer Systems and graduated from the U.S. Navy Data Processing school in early 1970. I served in Vietnam on the USS Providence CLG-6 during the mining of Haiphong Harbor. In 1973 I was honorably discharged and worked in the computer field as well as a musician (guitarist) in the San Diego area until 1998 when I moved to Las Vegas where I live now. I presently work as a Variable Documnet Specialist for Western Mailing Services. Chuck is Nascar racing great Dick Trickle's brother, so we also have been involved in the racing field since I started working for them in 1998. Chuck won the 2005 Track Championship for Super Late models at the BullRing and retired from racing in 2007. In the summer of 2006 I went back home to visit my family, most of whom are still in the area, and went to Slinger Raceway in Wisconsin to see Chuck Trickle and his brother Dick compete in their first ever race together at the Slinger Nationals. I have a daughter in San Diego in the Navy. My wife Maria, and I have 2 kids. Vanessa is 15 and Ronnie is 11.
