John's Story

High School for me was a place of transition, nothing more. I itched to leave. I remember having fun only from a few select friends, who shared with me on occasion a bottle of Ripple, a few courses on Chemistry, and a graduation party where I engaged with my classmates for a short and sweet time. I was too shy, lonely, and determined to leave to make good use of my stay. The most practical course I took was typing. I find that funny now. I knew I could concentrate, so I studied. I knew I had no interest in business, so I studied. I knew I wanted to find freedom, so I studied. eryting that I had not experieced because I studied far too much. The Peace Corp got me overseas and the United Nations gave me employment. My lively and hard-headed wife, Sorati, gave me love, security and two daugters. The two daugters gave me (so far) two wonderful grand daugters. When I think about the work I did, I only think of travels to odd places, of the joy of meeting intelligent people, of exciting taste of adventure. I've tried to write about all that and what it all means. And maybe I'll be able to do that sometime when the pressure of changing my precious grand daughters' diapers subside. And when I can find the time from having fun with my wife and family. I find life pretty humerous, really.
