John's Story
Life:
Went by John Willmott through high school, changed my name to Williamson in the late '60s to match up to my brothers, who had been adopted by our stepfather.
Have lived all over the country and have traveled overseas, but for the last 20+ years have been more of a computer technical engineer(aka geek), technical writer and project manager than anything. I design and maintain a number of Websites, both for fun and profit. And yes, I was one of those dotcom casualties, too.
Like others, I'm on Facebook, and can be found under my "jargontalk" profile.
My youngest son is gifted, and finished the 8th grade on the Honor Roll.... and he graduated in June 2014, and is moving to a new life on the US West Coast.
High School:
Remember the fun, party time, beach time, borrowing parents' boat for crazy Inlet trips, being mentored by Dean (Howard) Gold after crashing Class of '61 outing at DeLeon Springs with a few friends.
BTW: congrats to Jim Cunningham, the attorney turned gentleman farmer!
College:
College was serious, attended after USMC. Had a goal, so social life was almost nil. Partied enough years before in high school. Studied and worked 50-60 hrs per week, got Associates in 15 months with 3.9 average. That's what a stretch in the Marines will do for one's will power.

hat I learned, had great instructors, and put it all to good use. Thank you Ann Rich, Janet Terhune, Dick Benoit, St. Elmo Cherry and so many others. You'll never be forgotten, as you made life so fulfilling.
Workplace:
Blogger, tech writer and computer geek - mostly Web engineering, disaster recovery, UNIX & SAP R/3. Currently an IT Consultant, living in Pennsylvania. My company is the Tekno-1 Group. We do Internet solutions well.
And am also working on a career change: working on three books, one a primer on Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Planning, while the other two are novels.
Military:
Boot camp at MCRD Parris Island, then to ITRC Camp Lejeune; Gitmo Bay, Cuba; then to MCRD San Diego for Electronics & Communication School, grad as MOS 2639; on to Camp Pendleton, CA and other interesting assignments. It was the 'Nam Era, what can I say?
Musings:
Always wanted to be a writer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that I should be an attorney. As it turns out, they were wrong.
Ride a mountain bike almost daily, and for at least ten miles. It's not only great exercise, but also helps me let off steam.
Currently watch very little television, except for one show: Mad Men, on AMC, which is justification for owning a television set.
