I have been a professional educator for over thirty years. My teaching career began in Ralston, Nebraska as an elementary school teacher. After several years in the classroom I decided to make the move to the principalship, and became a building administrator in North Bend, Nebraska for a K-6 school. Although I enjoyed being a principal, I wanted to work at the district office level and accepted the position of Curriculum Director for the Brookings School District in South Dakota. I found the challenges as a district administrator and working with the school board to be just what I was looking for professionally. In the same district, I became Assistant Superintendent for Administration, responsible for curriculum and finances, which allowed me to match budget with the education plan of the board and community. Through this experience, I then focused my sights on a superintendency.
