John's Story

Life Enlisted USMC. Later got commissioned. Tried Vietnam for 13 months (Dewey Canyon, etc.) USMC was good to me, 1 undergraduate and 3 graduate degrees. Did two reconnaissance tours (Navy tried to drown me--Navy Diver 2nd Class; Army tried to break my body--Jump School at Ft. Benning) Got into financial management by virtue of always going to school. Became a Comptroller. Retired 1988 after 22 1/2 years. Provost, Osler Institute for nearly 7 years. Pulled a Hemmingway, complete with beard, living on a boat in Florida ...Expand for more
-- produced more than 150 published articles. Came out of retirement in 2003 to work as an Operations Research/Space Weapons System Cost Analyst with the Air Force in Crystal City, Arlington, VA. Then moved to Eglin AFB in FL to do cruise missiles, etc. Enjoying the wild world of military weaponry. Married, 1 child. School Did 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th grades in the U.S. Remainder were in England and Japan. BGS University of New Hampshire. MA Pepperdine university. MBA National Univeristy. MS Naval Postgraduate School.
