in General Studies), NRI (earned AAS in Electronics), Baker University in Overland Park, Kansas (earned my Bachelors in Business), Baker University (worked on a Masters in Organizational Management), and the University of Phoenix (earned my Masters in Business Administration). Have also taken courses from the University of Alaska Southeast (Juneau). Workplace I retired from the University of Alaska as an Associate Professor of Business and Accounting (after 14 1/2 years) to begin yet another career. I was hired in late July 2009 as the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) for the Kodiak Area Native Corporation (KANA). Services provided by KANA include an Ambulatory Medical Care and Dental Care, Pharmacy, Contract Health, Community Health Aide Program, Substance Abuse Prevention, Intervention/Outreach, Social Services, non-clinical community Mental Health, and Youth Prevention Projects. Other services provided by the organization include Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program, Vocational Rehabilitation, Early Childhood programs, Education, Employment and Training programs, Infant Learning Program, a full service Fitness Center and Tribal Operations/Environmental Health. It is a very rewarding and fulfilling job! Military I spent 26 years in the Coast Guard. I had a fantastic career and advanced from E-1 to E-7 in the enlisted ranks, from CWO2 - CWO4 in the Warrant Officer Corps, and from LT to LCDR in the Officer Corps. I spent most of my career in Finance and Supply including jobs as a Supply Officer on the Coast Guard Cutter Ingham, Deputy Comptroller at the Coast Guard's largest Support Center (Kodiak), Comptroller at the Coast Guard's Pay and Personnel Center, and as an Assignment Officer for Storekeepers in Washington, DC. I enjoyed every minute of my career as I had a very supportive family who enjoyed it as well. Met lots of great people and have lots of great memories.
