Cathie's Story
Life
I went to North Olmsted through 8th grade at the junior high and then the family moved to North Ridgeville. In '74 I ended up in Columbus, where I lived until '93. I am currently living in North Ridgeville with my husband John. I have three sisters, Cris (1976) and Janice (1983) living in North Ridgeville and Beth (1979) living in North Olmsted with her husband, Wayne Palmer. I'm an accountant, currently working for mysel. No kids. At Butternut Elementary, my best friends were Ellen Wohl, Gina Yost, Debbie Dietz and Karen Haupt and we hung with Ron Hauck, Bill Riechle and Jeff Scott. In junior high, my best friends were Shelly Contos, Donna Rapp, Debbie Fawcett, Angel Dottore.
I was in Brown Cottage at Rosemo...Expand for more
nt, my best friends were Laura Bowman, Moose, Roberta Lacy, Marva Tucker.
I went to United Methodist Children's Home in Worthington and was there during the blizzard of '78, then went to their group home and went to North High School until desegregation closed it in 1979, when I was in the 11th grade. I was supposed to get bused to East High School for the 1/2 credit of English that I needed for graduation. I took the GED instead. I should've gone in the military right then, and I kick myself every day because I didn't. The one regret in my life. I wanted to be a marine. Thought I had time.
I cashed in all I had when I was 28 and went to Ohio State for a couple years. Didn't finish that either. Always too busy.
