Life After graduating from Mira Loma in 1963, I attended UC Davis, graduation in 1967 with a BS in Zoology. Went to Sac State the next year and received my teaching credential in 1968. Began teaching middle school in the San Juan School District in September of that year, and was drafted out of the classroom in February of 1969. Served 3 years in the U.S. Army, commissioned in Signal out of the Artillery OCS at Ft. Sill, OK. Spent my time in Augusta, Ga. (it was tough duty, but somebody had to do it). Went back to teaching in September of 1972 at my previous school (Will Rogers Middle School). Using the G.I. Bill, went back to school at night and got my administrative credential and masters in 1976. Immediately was appointed Vice Principal at Barrett M.S., and in 1980 became Principal at Carnegie M.S.
