John's Story
DOES IT NOT BOTHER ANYONE THAT CLASSMATES.COM MIS-SPELLS OUR SCHOOL NAME (FERNADO, IT'S FERNANDO, LOOK IN THE BLUE TYPE)I'VE CONTACTED THEM BUT THEY CONTINUE TO DISRESPECT OUR SCHOOL, THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR AT LEAST 7 MONTHS AND IS ONE OF THE REASON I HAD REFUSED TO JOIN. DOES SOMEONE OUT THERE KNOW HOW TO REACH A HUMAN BEING THAT WORKS THERE OR IS IT RUN BY SOME ONE IN INDONESIA? COMPLAIN FIGHTING TIGERS!! I was a hot rodder thru-out high school. I've been a hot rodder thru out life. I drove a white '53 Ford w/a full house flathead. I creamed Mr. Brown (Auto Shop teacher) at San Fernando Raceway. He thought his grey '33 Chevy sedan, w/ a sm. blk Chebby in it, could take my flat head. NOT. I also drove my 1940 Ford Sedan, love that car. So much that I still own it. It's an opera coupe now and prestine. My daily driver is a '48 Anglia that runs 9.87, 152 mph in the 1/4 mile. I was 4'11'' when I graduated. Mike Mancinni and I were the shortest guys in the Valavictorions. Joined the Navy in '65, went to nam in '67. I miss all the hero's that we lost, especially the members of the Valley Undertakers. Tough guys, that REALLY were. Left the Navy in '68 and moved to Chicago where I continued my love affair wit...Expand for more
h cars and drag racing. In '71 I returned to the Valley and became an automotive pinstriper known as "Got'Cha". My shop in Van Nuys played host to many tv and movie personalities. My crew and I worked on vehicles involved in movies made at Universal Studios. What fun! I moved to Olympia, Wa. in 1977 and opened a custom paint shop then in 1979 I opened the first speed shop in my county of Thurston where I taught the locals what I had learned in Calif. 28 years later I closed the doors and am now dealing with grandkids and THEIR hot rods. It's way cool. Life's been good. My 2 boys and 2 girls are great but I'm really partial to my grandkids, all 6 of them. I've been divorced for almost 20 years but have an abundence of friends. My 1 yr. old dog, Jasper is a Jindo, Koreas national dog, is my very best friend. He has filled the loss of my last best friend, Pooter, an australian shepard, my bud for 17 years. All in all, lifes good. Got smarter, know what my responsibilities are and other than that I'm still as active as I was as a teenager. Hope everyone shares the same health that I have been blessed with. Well I think it's time to take off for a ride on my chopper and let the wind do it's job. Ride on!
