John's Story
As many of you may recall, I was heavily involved with music in high school playing in the school band and orchestra, plus playing with various dance bands in Fort Wayne. After graduating from CCHS, I went to Ball State Teachers College to continue my thirst for music and got a degree in music education and being in ROTC was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the USAF. Never went back to music and never really missed it, except should I pass a piano, I might just sit down and play a tune or two. I subsequently spent 23 years in the service of our country assigned to numerous locations in the US and the Far East before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. , Nebraska overseeing the operation of a national missile warning system. With the experience I gained in computers in the Air Force, I took on the task of Director of Computer Services for 15 years with the Toledo Public School system in Ohio. I'm now totally retired with a wonderful wife and five children and five grandchildren between us. As can be expected from moving so much, our family is scattered all over the country. We continue to live in Ohio and call Sylvania Township, just outside of Toledo, our home. We stay active playing golf, bridge, and working out at a health club, plus visiting family and friends and from time to time traveling to unseen locations in the US and outside the country.
