After high school, I entered the USAF (and was stationed abroad in Europe where I was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service during the Cold War). Afterwards, I pursued a successful career in international business as a Systems Analyst in the Netherlands and Canada and then became a civil servant at the United Nations at their offices in Montreal, Canada and Geneva, Switzerland where I had a senior director's position responsible for co-ordination of UN computer systems world-wide. I have lived abroad almost my whole adult life except for a few years while working in business in the USA, residing mostly in francophone countries (my high school French teacher, Miss Aduddell would have been proud of me). Until recently I owned my own consulting firm, having retired from the UN in 2002, but have now retired completely from working to concentrate on my stock market investments.
