John's Story
Since I was a working student in high school, I wasn't part of the social scene. Ms. Langford was my 7th period class (psychology) during my Junior year and we had an understanding about my after school job. I could work a whole shift on Saturdays, but my work time during the week was limited. So, I was permitted to leave school every day that I had to work at 2:15 and in return for that privilege, I would stay until 2:30 on Wednesdays (my off day) every week. That was done to allow me to get in 4 full hours of work ever day during the week. It was weird at first, walking out of school everyday before the 2:30 bell rang, but I got used to it. It was also strange to me that I never got caught leaving early by Mr. Tucker, not one time all that year. Ms. Langford later married my uncle, so we were related my marriage. Funny how things like that work out...

ures now, just don't have time for the rehab.
I attended Walker College after high school, then moved to Homewood and transferred to UAB in the fall of '85 to pursue a B.S. in Finance. That would prove to be a great career move in that I have been employed in Banking and Finance now for over 25 years. That career started in '88 at The First National Bank of Jasper. Soon I was making automobile loans in the dealer department of the bank. That job opened doors at Compass Bank, Premiere Finance Company, New South Federal Savings Bank, Nuvell Credit Company (a GMAC financial services company), and GM Financial.
I got married in '95 and was blessed with a son. My family and I have lived in Trussville for the last 18 years. I still own the farm I grew up on in Sipsey and I spend as much time there as I can. Between chores, planting green fields and keeping up with my deer herd via game cams, it's more work than play out there on some of the remote acreage down by the Warrior River...
That's most of the years since high school summed up. Thanks for looking and reading.
