John's Story
History
Returned to Lancaster in '71 after 3 years of military service (USA, Vietnam and Germany). Left Lancaster in 1976 and went to the Marshall Islands for a year. Returned to Lancaster in '77 and then went back to the islands from '79 to '84. Followed my true love to Huntsville, Alabama in '84 and have been here ever since. Convinced her to marry me in '94 after a LONG engagement.
Workplace
I took drafting all 4 years at AVHS (Mr Hart) and have been working in design and drafting ever since. It has allowed me to travel to some very interesting places, from Hawaii and Kwajalein (a small island in the south pacif...Expand for more
ic 1/2 mile wide and 3 miles long )to Alabana, where I currently live. I truly believe the South is one of the best kept secrets as far as places to live. I've been working for the past 24 years as the special tooling engineer for Sanmina-SCI's Government Division.
Current
I retired in 2008 and my wife and I have been doing a lot of traveling. We ride a Harley Electra Glide Ultra Classic and go cross country each summer spending 3 months on the road each year. In the winter we usually go someplace warm in Mexico but this year (2013) we're going to Costa Rica for a month. Life is good, death, probably not so much.
