Life
After graduation, I attended one year of college at Brigham Young University. I took leave for a two year church mission to Indonesia (1974-76). After returning, I married C. Rebecca Skousen in April 1977. I then completed my education at Brigham Young University, graduating with a B.S. in Psychology (1979), during which time we had our first child, Jeffery Joseph in 1978. Mississippi, where I went to law school at the University of Mississippi, earning my Juris Doctorate in 1992. I was appointed as a law clerk for the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, Louisiana, where I worked from 1992-94. I then was appointed as law clerk for the Honorable Walter J. Gex, III, U.S. District Court judge (Southern District of Mississippi), in which capacity I worked from 1994-1998. I then returned to California in 1998, to work in private practice for the national employment law firm, Fisher & Phillips LLP, with offices currently in Irvine, California.
