John's Story
I'd have to say that next to my first six years in the Navy, my four years at Westmoor were very fun years. We did some wild things, and got into our share of trouble. Bragging here, I was the first student at Westmoor to earn a Varsity Letter as a freshman. I could run fast for a long time. Near the end of my first Cross Country season, the coach told me that if I beat the third fastest varsity time, I'd get my varsity letter. I ran my legs off, and beat that time. After leaving the Navy in 1973, I started my own business fixing Player Pianos. You know, they're the pianos that play all by themselves with a paper music roll. Everyone thought I was nuts, including my folks and my wife. Well, 37 years later and only one thing hasn't changed. I'm still fixing player pianos. I have a huge web site about player pianos at Player-Care.com, which is actually making me a living. I still go out to the homes of my customers to do service and tuning work, but due to the demands on my time I've had to limit that work to two days a week.
