John's Story
Currently teaching and coaching baseball at Rogue River. been a Chinese Linguist and secret equipment operator in the Air Force, an Oregon ASA Hall-of-Fame player and 2-time All-American in men's fast pitch softball, a corporate salesman for Harry and David and several synthetic stucco companies, a very successful college baseball player, and have run a year-round baseball school for Fred Herrmann and his professional team for 7 years. In 30 plus years of coaching, I have been fortunate enough to have coached more than 100 student-athletes who have gone on to pursue college baseball or softball, including the two boys who combined to score the game-winning run for Oregon State's first National Championship. Several of my athletes have played professionally as well. It has been a fun ride, but I still look forward to that first state champioship team at the high school level.
