Johnnie's Story
Life
I married Charlie Fannon, Feb/74. We've lived in Caldwell, Louisiana, Alaska, Idaho & Alaska. We have three sons, Anderson, an RN, with two sons, twin girls. Joshua, a criminal defense Attorney, w/wife and three sons. Link, Private investigator, w/wife, two daughters and two sons. I am so in love with my children, daughter in laws and grandsons. They are what life is all about.
Have lived in Fairbanks, Haines then Wasilla. From there, charlie and i lived in the wilderness, 32 miles outside delta junction alaska, inbetween delta and tok, off the Alaska Hey. for nearly five years we have lived off the grid, no elec, running water, cell site, tv. has been vastly interesting. had about two weeks of -56 and colder, though the entire winter has been wicked. looking forward to spring!
november 2012 our lives has changed vastly. last winter we had -70. to cold for my bones. we are now in kingsport tn. charlie wanted to be near his mother now that she is older. tremendous change from our life in alaska. it is like living in a different country. what i like the best about living here is the warm weather. it is warmer than our alaska summer. our garden froze...Expand for more
last summer in july. no fun. a new chapter in our life. hope to survive it all.
NEW CHAPTER IS GETTING STARTED. still in kingsport with charlie's mama. however, we are just getting started building in duffield, virginia. i have finally stopped crying, missing alaska, my sons/wives and 11 grandkids. whew! charlie thought i would never stop! having had a 4 wheeler accident in june, 2011, broke my brain in 4 places and it bled, moved it over 4 mm, broke collarbone, all ribs on right side and my shoulder, my brain is slowly but surely healing. being on life support for about a week, all told i was to die, i woke up to know no one or myself. have lost many, many memories. charlie has worked hard to help me get better. i can still say stupid things, spell horribly, he loves me in spite of it all. very blessed to be alive..
Country living room n Virginia is interesting. After 34 years in Alaska, moving here was like leaving one country to another. Been here about 8 years. Charlie snd I have been married 46 years. Now raising chickens with two cats snd a border collie. Charlie growing all kinds of fruit trees as well as a weeping willow that came from the snake river. Life!
