Jolene's Story

Life I left Gladwin the day of Mike Clark's funeral. Didn't even go. That's another thing I would change about my past. Moved to Texas with my parents, had a baby girl (Jamey) and started working construction. I worked through all the Rocky Mountain states as a structural ironworker/welder. I met and married my husband, Tudor, when I was 30, in Arizona and had another baby girl, Hannah Jo. We lived in Missouri for a few years and then moved to Guam. We lived and worked there for 11 years. I owned my own welding business there for 8 years but just got burnt out on dealing with OSHA, insurance, taxes and all the crap that goes ...Expand for more
along with owning your own business. I loved the work and the people I worked with. We moved back to America in July, '02 and settled in east Texas. Beautiful here. My husband works in West Africa and I am turning a 30,000 square foot chicken house into a home/shop. A housebuilding housewife. Life is good. My girls have both moved on and as of Christmas 2007 I am still working on the chicken house (art in motion), teaching high school welding and driving a school bus. Imagine that. Things I've learned since High School: What goes around, comes around; learn EVERYTHING; share what you know; it's a small world. Love to all.
