Jon's Story
Life
Here is a quick update. Just went over 20 years in the Air Force. I have spent the last 16 years in the Reserves and Guard (see profile). I will be putting on Master in the next few months. Graduated from Grand Canyon University in 1990 with a degree in marketing. Spent the last 14 years working in corporate marketing. I recently switched over to real estate and I'm learning to be a home appraiser. I'm currently living in Frisco, Texas (suburb of Dallas). I've never been married but currently have a girlfriend by the name of Tiffany (see pic).
I'm still an outdoor freak with my favorite activities being snow skiing, mountain biking, golfing and hunting. I would like to eventually move back West to CO, AZ, UT or CA. I'm also active in my church teaching college-age Sunday school. I also volunteer every Wednesday night at Children's Medical Center of Dallas. If you are not doing this, I highly recommend it!
Goals for 2005 would include starting my own business and getting Tiffany to say yes to marriage. I look forward to hearing from ALL OF YOU!
School
I enjoyed sports and partying. That is pretty much my memories of high school. Good times with good friends.
College
Grand Canyon University was a great experience for me. GCU is a small (2,000 students) Baptist College in Phoenix, Arizona. This was the start of my corporate career. Great school, great teachers and great friends. Phoenix was awesome as well. If you have kids looking at colleges, this is a good one.

ustrating year trying to get my first job. I pulled a lot of active duty days at Luke to pay my bills. My big break came in 1991 when a guest speaker in one of my classes hired me to be his Marketing Supervisor at Peter Piper Pizza in Phoenix. I finally got my start. This lead to a 6-year stint at Pizza Hut. This is a great company where I learned more than I ever expected. I left Pizza Hut to jump on the telecom bandwagon in 1999. I caught it right at the peak and was there for the crash. Sprint was the best company I ever worked for in the last 14 years. Too bad everything has changed. I bounced around a couple of dead-end restaurant chains before deciding to go out on my own and get into real estate. I'm currently being trained by a good friend in the home appraisal business. My goal is to get my license and start my own branch.
Military
What can I say other than I can't believe 20 years has gone by so fast! I have totally enjoyed my last 16 years in the reserves and I'm so glad I decided to remain a part of the military. There is nothing like the camaraderie of the military in the civilian world. I have had the opportunity to ride in the backseat of an F-16 three times in the last 20 years. There is nothing more incredible than riding in that jet. That is the best reward for 20 years of service. I have been all over the world. Most recently I have been to Turkey and Kuwait supporting our fight against terrorism. We live in the greatest country and we must never forget those that have allowed us to enjoy the freedoms we have today.
