Jon's Story
Picture with the helicopter was taken during my last deployment to Iraq with the USAF Reserve. 2008-2009. I ran the evacuation hospital at Balad AB. War is hell, we were shot at daily, but this was the most satisfying work I've ever done in my life. I supervised the evacuation of over 3000 wounded hero's back to the states. I also take pride in the fact that I took 12 airman to war with me and brought them all home alive.
I was a career firefighter/paramedic in Cripple Creek Colorado until 2006 when I suffered a career ending shoulder injury in the line of duty. I've been medically retired from the fire service since 2006 and soon to be retired from the AF.
I remember being involved in the drama club in high school and have resurrected that again being involved with the local community theater troupe....Expand for more
I have acted, and/or directed, in over 200 performances since 2001. This picture was taken with the cast of the community production, "Murder on Center Stage" I directed April 2012.
I'm also very active in veterans groups being a member of the American Legion, Life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a Life member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association. 2nd pic was taken 9/16/12 riding with CVMA battle buddy Cino.
I never had any kids so more time, and $, for fun and toys!
Hobbies include; hunting, fishing, camping, acting and riding my motorcycle (2007 HD Electroglide).
Look forward to traveling and seeing places I haven't been before. Trip east for next year is in the cards, hope we have a reunion, and hope to see some of you then.
