Here is an update on my life. I retired last December after 37 years as a professor of Parks and Natural Resources Management at California State University, Chico where I taught students to become park rangers. My specialty was environmental interpretation/education so my students learned how to explain (interpret) the "language of the environment" to park visitors to help enhance visitor's fascination with and understanding of natural ecological systems. I still enjoy downhill skiing (mainly at Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows), swimming, bike riding, woodworking, and gardening. As a recent retiree, I have plans to get back into sailing (I still have a 14-foot Vagabond sailboat), fishing (I also have a 14-foot fishing boat), and model railroading (yes, I still have some of my HO trains from the past!) "down the road." My sweetheart, Rita, is still teaching 5th grade for about another 2 years (most likely). We have been together for about 15 years.
