Jonathan's Story
Hello all,
After browsing through the list of names, it surprises me that there are so many I remember after so many years. Time has flown by and I've found myself at one of those milestones in life which compels a person to pause and reflect. So much as happened since that day we put on our caps and gowns, received our diplomas and maybe said goodbye to our good friends. The short version for me? I joined the service...US Navy after a transfer from the US Army Reserve. I served through two major wars and some smaller conflicts. I retired as a United States Navy Chief Petty Officer after almost twenty-two years of active service. To anybody who asks me, I tell them I am proud of my service but suggest also ...Expand for more
that if you consider service to your country in the armed forces; make sure it is what you want to do....and for the right reasons. I continue to serve as a life member of the National Veterans of Foreign Wars ((VFW)). My service took me all over the world and our country, the United States of America. I currently live in northern Minnesota near the town I grew up in before moving to Texas, attending Conroe High School and graduating with you all in 1986. What a day that was. I am back in school again. "Why not?"; I asked myself. At almost 43, I feel a little old sitting in class with fellow students who remind me of us in 1986, but I smile also...we have so much to teach them. God Bless you all.
