Jonda's Story
I think the thing that would surprise most people who knew me in high school is that I have 20 years in criminal justice. I went to work for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1988. My duty station is at FCI Ashland. I've worked in departments all through the institution in different positions through the years. I will be able to retire in about 5 more years and I'm definitely looking forward to a new career. And I always thought I'd work in the medical field!
I'm not that quiet little girl anymore. We all grow up. . .I'm probably more confident than I've ever been in my life at this age.
I've been married to the same wonderful man for 25 years now. My husband works at the Marathon Refinery. We have one son who attends Boyd County. Being a mom has been the greatest privilege of my life - nothing can ...Expand for more
compare to that. I also have two nieces and a nephrew that I love dearly.
I still live in basically the same area, not far from my parents and my sister.
We have four dogs, two West Highland Terriers and two mutts rescued from the pound.
Although I must admit that my life took off on a totally different tract than I expected, I've been extremely blessed. I've dealt with some medical issues through the years and I still struggle from time to time, but I'm hanging in there.
I'm very fortunate to still have my mom and dad with me. They're so precious to me. After all these years, I'm still a Daddy's girl!
My hobbies - let's see - I love to read (when I have time), I like to knit and crochet. I'm working on the geneology of my family which has been somewhat addicting, according to my son, of course!
