Jordan D.'s Story

...As a very good friend. I always wanted to be a business owner. My family and friends thought that was probable. As it turns out, they were eventually right. I never did anything I would consider wild but I wished I had. I worked my way through college as a radio announcer in Miami. Lived in lots of Mass cities, other states, and two foreign countries. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Cathy Carney, a sweatheart from Denver. University of Miami 1960-1964, BA Hurricanes Football, Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics and the Patriots. Sometimes I watch too much TV.  I have 3-sons the 3rd is non-vocal and Autistic. I was divorce after 33-years of marrage. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen and add on a large garage. My dream home would be Cape Cod colonial style. My children appreciate that I have always been there for them and acknowledge that. I love it. If I won $100 million, I'd give most of it to my children, then spend the rest on homes , cars and travel and charity. While in college I accepted responsibility for 2-years as a student dorm advisor, a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Executive Sec. and then President of Miami Pep Club.  Awarded Orange Key and Archontis selections for leadership.  Turning back the clock to 1956 while stationed at Lowry Air Force Base, in Denver, and the time spent with my Denver sweetheart. My secret crush was the most popular girl in school. My best friends would tell you I'm a straight shooter and a good friend but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as just OK!. The weirdest job I ever had was social director at the Sunippi Lodge in New London, NH, on Lake Sunappee. Another special Air Force job was as a nuclear weapons fusing specialist I share my home with my ex-wife, which I find difficult, to say the least. Hammer & Block awarded as President of Miami Student Pep Club in 1963 and dance trophy for 1st place in the MacDill AF Base jitterbug contest in 1957. My one do-over would have been to marry my Denver Sweetheart in 1957. Actually, there were two friends I met playing street tag football after moving into a new Melrose neighborhood. I was accepted even thought I was 'The new kid on the Block'. They'd be surprised that I was far more outgoing than I seemed while in HS. My first job was at First National Store where I got paid $.50 per hour to bag potatoes. What I remember most is that I't hard to believe that's all I earned at 16.  One thing I hold very memorable was watching a Red Sox game the 1st time I saw TV.
