Jose's Story

I remembered long ago (1981-82) me outside in the street by my house waiting for the school bus to pick me up. I was nervous, curious, and thinking, what are my classmates gonna think of me? Boy! When they find out--I can't speak a leak of English this might be embarrassing---it was! This trend continued through high school. Again, (1983-84) me outside waiting for the school bus to pick me up and take me to high school, but this time I was going to be a freshman-(wow!).-- My language barrier was still a huge problem for me, but somehow I always managed to make it.--I have to say--this problem bothered the heck out of me . I was given the impression of a person that was not really me. I have to credit my personality and character helping me with the friendship of many classmates who bust out in laughs or curious with the things that I did or say. Yep! This was something special about me. The next step of my life was making it to the local university here in Clarksville, Tn. (Austin Peay State University) --Don't ask how I made it, but my Godly I made it. After turning buck wild-(boy, I party until day light), I ended with a 4th down and long -given a punt with no return. from the academics ...Expand for more
dpt. Then, I thought to myself about someday getting back to school and finish what I started---(I did-boy-in what way I did). ---But first, I worked for many manufacturers, warehouses, etc., Then, I began to work in Nashville-(1997) --After several years working for this manufacturer for some evil reason heavy thunderstorms, high winds and lighting struck me big time--I was out! Yep! This was the most disastrous time of my life, but it got much better when I moved back to Clarksville, when they finalized the topping on the cake. I could not believe how I was been treated--when I was asking for justice at one time. --- So this is where the story of "Odysseus" compares to my maze/journey to success. That's right! I was placed through a tough journey--but I never ever gave up, folks. With the orders from God, I went back to Austin Peay University and finished by bachelor of science in public management-concentration in management technology----then, I stepped up a notch and completed my masters in public policy later in criminal justice. Today, as gravity got me much older and wiser still alive and healthy, amen, with high hopes about someday finding my own destiny and finally live a happy life.
