Joseph's Story
Life
I am married to Suzanne Adkins. She is a gift of God. We have been married since June 19, 1993. Suzanne and I are both Christians.
Suzanne and I have 2 children. Our daughter is the oldest - Madeline. Our son is the youngest - Madison (Mason)
I left Key West to go to school at the University of Florida where I graduated with honors. I have a bachelors degree in Music Education.
In 2003 I earned a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. I graduated with High Honors.
I spent 6 years teaching music at Summers Elementary School in Lake City, FL. I met Suzanne at work.
After leaving Summers, I became the band director at Columbia High School in...Expand for more
Lake City, FL. I stayed at Columbia for 10 years.
My two most recent adventure is leaving the classroom and moving into school administration. On June 20, 2006, I received my first administrative appointment to be the Assistant Principal at Westside Elementary in Lake City, FL.
In May of 2008 I received an appointment from the Superintendent of Schools to be the principal at Melrose Park Elementary School in Lake City, FL. I officially became the principal on January 05, 2009 when the current principal left to open up Columbia County's newest elementary school.
In January of 2013, I was promoted to be a school district administrator, Director of Federal Programs.
