Joseph's Story
JT Aguila is an experienced development professional with expertise in fundraising and event planning. A national and regional award winning television producer, fundraiser, public speaker and volunteer recruiter/trainer.
A former television and radio announcer and producer, he was honored by the Heartland Regional Emmy Awards for Significant Contribution for his work on the PBS weekly series, âÂÂSpirit of Colorado.âÂÂ
He received a national EMMY nomination for the nationwide PSA campaign, "Winter/Holiday Sweater Drive with Mr. Rogers" featuring TV icon, Fred Rogers. The campaign collected more than 60,000 pieces of cold weather clothing that were distributed to those in need.
With nearly 25 years of fundraising experience, he is skilled in multiple aspects of marketing and event planning. He joined JD Breast Cancer Foundation (JDBCF) in September of 2010 as Executive Director. Previously he served as the Manager of Special Events for the American Diabetes Association (ADA), Income Development Coordinator for the American Cancer Society (ACS) and Regional Director for the American Heart Association (AHA). Additionally, he was Producer and On-air Fundraising Manager for the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) in Denver, Colorado (KRMA); Dallas, Texas (KERA); and Cleveland, Ohio (WVIZ/PBS).
He served as a Mentor to the Cleveland Bridge Builders class of 2013.
A former radio announcer and television spokesperson, he is an avid collector of music and Hollywood memorabilia.
He resides in Parma Heights with his wife (a four-time cancer survivor), (losaguilaataoldotcom) their two cats and three tanks of fish.
