Joseph's Story
Life
Joined the Navy upon graduating from SPHS and was stationed on a ship home ported in San Diego, Calif. While in the Navy I made three western Pacific Cruises which I still remember very well today. After my hitch was up in the Navy I returned to South Plainfield and hung out for a couple of years and then decided to go back to school.
I graduated Rutgers in 1977 with a BS in Accounting. During that time
frame I got married and had two kids. Divorced 9 years later. At 36 I remarried and had another child. That marriage lasted 20 years and now I am divorced again.
All and all life has really has been great. I can't complain about anything. I have done so many things and have gone to so many places and I have enjoyed every single minute of every day. I worked in the corporate environment for many years in the financial departments of the companies I was employed with. In 1990 I found myself on the outside looking in and decided to go in business for myself. For the last 13 years I have operated a financial services company. I love the freedom that comes with working for yourself.
The past couple of years I started singing professionally at various types of private parties. I sing Sinatra during dinner hour.
During this past year I got very involved with South African wines. I have spent alot of time in the NYC at wine tastings and selling these wines. I have really come to love the whole business. When you come right down to it, I love fine foods and I love wine so whats not to love.
Life is a beautiful thing when you
live and enjoy every single day with a smile.
